I don't think so.
While improving at Spanish, my written French (which I have spoken since birth with family and friends) has improved as well (which is an important source of pride and cultural / linguistic identity to me because it's my first language, but after age 10 I mostly went to english-language schools)
References :
It happened to me when I went to Costa Rica for two months. I was speaking and writing in Spanish and when I switched back to English to like IM friends or something I was spelling everything wrong! Pretty much exactly like what you said with "hows" and "house". I mean I still knew how to type those words if I thought about it but when just casually typing something I would spell them all messed up.
References :
While learning another language, is it common to make more mistakes in your own?
I'm finding that while I learn Arabic, I'm frequently misspelling or failing to recognize English words.

The most confusing thing is when I unwittingly type words phonetically. ("hows" for "house", etc). I'm not even aware of doing it until I proofread.

This didn't happen prior to my beginning Arabic study.
